Unit 4 - Comprehensive WBS Develop a comprehensive work breakdown structure using a Project Life Cycle or Component Level at the top or hybrid.. DO NOT USE INITIATING, PLANNING, MONITORING OR CONTROLLING, EXECUTING OR CLOSING AT THE HIGH LEVEL! THESE ARE PROCESS GROUPS FOR ORGANIZING YOUR PROJECT MANAGEMENT WORK not the work of the TEAM captured usually in the Project Life Cycle or Component level work. The WBS must Contain 200 tasks or elements and at least 6 high level summary tasks including Project Management as a high level summary.(Project Management tasks should be at least 20-30 activities and you can organize them by Process Group if you like). The WBS must be tied to the Scope Statement - show you should be able to read the scope statement and see how the WBS relates to it. Part 1 - Excel file for WBS (not required - not to be turned in - just submit Part 2 below) Part 2 - WBS MUST be in MS Project - an mpp file. Refer to PMBOK Chapter 5 "Project Scope Management".
