It is mandatory for both parts to be completed. Part A – 1000 words essay Part B – 500 words reflective account Assignment Questions PART A – 1000 words essay (LO3) Compare and contrast two countries with contrasting euthanasia laws . How have the society's morals and attitudes affected the laws in each case. Further guidance: Countries which have made euthanasia illegal: United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy Countries which have legalised euthanasia: Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg Structure: Introduction – define euthanasia Main body – introduce the two contrasting countries. Explain what the status of the law on euthanasia (legal or illegal). Explain why euthanasia has been legalised in your chosen country? How did it happen? What was the main influence? What was society's role in this? Explain why euthanasia has been made illegal in your chosen country. Was it ever legal? What changes determined the illegal status? What was the main influence? What was society's role in this? Conclusion – answer the essay question and make reference to the societal perspective. PART B – 500 words reflective log (LO4) Write a reflective log as an account of your experience in researching the topic above. You must make reference to the following points when reflecting: How you planned the research for your topic? Why particular sources were selected? What challenges did you face and how you overcame these? What specific skills you acquired at the end of the research?
