Uber and Bolt are two competing transport system that facilitate local transport in South Africa. It
is believed that there is no difference between using both Uber and Bolt to get to the same
destination. To test this belief, the users of both transports system were surveyed. 40 User users
and 40 Bolt users participated in survey. For Uber’s users, the average time recorded in minutes
is 38.5 with a sample standard deviation of 6.5. An average of 40.2 minutes was recorded for
Bolt users with a standard deviation of 4.5. Assuming that the travel time is normally distributed,
use an appropriate test statistic to test the belief that there is no difference between using Uber
or Bolt to a similar destination at 1% level of significance. Clearly specify all steps involved in
hypothesis testing.
