Two shafts carry discs of moments of inertia I1and I2about their common axis and can be coupled by a clutch at A (Fig. 6.55). If initially I1is rotating with an angular velocity ω while I2is at rest, and then the clutch is engaged, find the common angular velocity of the shafts after slipping has ceased. Find also the loss of energy.
