You have looked into a newsworthy event and have reflected briefly on the news article. What you need to do for our tutorial meeting is approach the article in a Socratic fashion.

1) Find a newspaper article (Nexis Uni)

2) Write a 150-word abstract of article

Write three Socratic questions that concern the content of your article. Examples of Socratic questions: What terms need to be more carefully defined? Do you see anything that might lead to contradictionsor problemswith the author’s thinking?

3) Write a single sentence where you agree or disagree with article and why.

Revisit the why aspect of this question. A“why”requires reasons, what reasons do you think support your agreement or disagreement with article?

4) Write 250-500 words explaining why someone else should care about the article and your statement about the article.

Write three Socratic questions that concern the content of your own reflection on the article.
