Tsai (1988) presented data from a gauge R & R study for dimensional

measurements of the inboard/outboard characteristic of an injected molded

plastic part. The part was measured by a coordinate measurement machine

(CMM), where the nominal dimension is 685 mm. The study consisted

of two randomly chosen operators who measured each of ten parts twice.

Each time when a part was measured, it was loaded into the fixture by

the operator. Table 3.54 displays these measurements after subtracting the

nominal dimension. Assess this measurement system by providing point
