Assignment 1:
Working remotely is a style of working which allows people to work outside of a traditional office setting. It supports the concept of getting work done in a successful manner without the need a of a specific place.
I find working remotely very satisfying and productive. There are number of reasons for this. It saves me a lot of time that would normally have to spend on commuting from my home to office and back. It allows me to set my own schedule for work. Thus, I can choose what hours work best for me and I can get the job done without any hassle. It also allows me to simultaneously focus on other things that are important to me, for example, I can take a dance class. It also allows me to pursue an academic course because of the flexibility of the working hours. I feel working remotely also helps to me to focus on self-care and my health. I can change my work setting at my will, for example, on some days I could go to a café, order some food while I work, or I could take a little trip during the week. A change of scenario brings in new perspectives also boosts my enthusiasm for working. I feel I am more productive when I work remotely. It also saves me the cost of commuting to and fro from work. I don’t have to sit in a chair all day long, and thus won’t need a whole lot of breaks in between working.
There are quite a lot of misconceptions involved with working remotely, for example, it is thought that communication is an issue for remote workers.
