Topic: Discussion 14 Replies are only visible to those who have posted at least one reply.  This is a graded discussion: 2 points possible due Dec 1 Discussion 14 10 10 Search entries or author  Reply Discussion 14 +Read the transcripts of the two speeches featured in the section “In Their Own Words” (378-380). You can also watch them; the instructions can be found on page 380. Note that the full speech transcripts are in Appendix B on pages 427-434. After you’ve read and/or watched the speeches, isolate places in the speeches where you think the arguments fail or come up short and explain why. It’s best to try to use the fallacies explained in the Chapter 15 to label the speakers’ miscues, but you don’t have to. My main concern is that you know how to identify shoddy or weak argumentation and can explain what makes a particular argument or use of supporting evidence unsuccessful. (If you would like more guidance, my prompt has a lot in common with Exercise 4 under “Check Your Understanding” on page 398. Brydon and Scott’s formulation and questions might spark something my prompt does not.) Unread  
