Assignment Content

  1. Describing fundamental statistical concepts—and the interpretation of these statistical applications for an appropriate design selection and accurate statistical analysis—is a critical skill for doctoral students completing a dissertation. Reviewing some prior doctoral dissertations helps to hone these analytical skills and capabilities.

Locate 2 or 3 prior doctoral dissertations that use either a correlational, regression, or ANOVAanalysisby using the following steps:

    1. Access the
      University Library.

    2. Click on the Databases tab.

    3. Click on Dissertations & Theses @ University of Phoenix.

    4. Use Basic Search, Browse, or enter search terms to locate dissertations for review.

Review Ch. 1 and 3 of the selected dissertations, andidentifythe distinctive design elements that pertain to the particular correlation or regression design. The use of statistical applications should be evident in an overview of the nature and scope of the dissertation research study in Ch. 1. More relevant details and applications are explained in Ch. 3 of the dissertation.

Assess the design, major statistical concepts, applications, and methodologies.

Select 1 of the dissertations you reviewed, and write a 1,400- to 1,750-word paper that includes a synopsis of the research design and methodologies.

Describe how major statistical concepts were applied in the context of the research study and the administration of the selected dissertation.

Analyze the major features of the correlation or regression design itself, and explain how the applications fit the selected model. Did the hypotheses include sufficient testing to respond adequately to the research questions? Provide justification for your response.

Explain any potential gaps in the research study. Gaps include variables or elements that are pertinent to the study topic or context of the study setting that appear to be missing or minimally studied. Gaps might also include any expansions or extensions of the original study context that might make the outcomes more meaningful.

Draw conclusions about the overall research study design elements and the overall effectiveness or validity of the outcomes.

Include references on both the method/design features and the relevant content. Include in-text citations in the narrative of the text and the reference list at the end of the paper. For the reference list, include only references that are included in the text (not all references that are reviewed).

(Novice and Veteran Teacher Self-Efficacy: A Quantitative Prospective Causal-Comparative Study)
The purpose of the research was to analyze the self-efficacy of the teachers of Novice and Veteran, it was a comparative study. Th main points of the research was to examine the difference between the level of teacher’s self-efficacy and the number of years a teacher in the classroom. The years of experience is considered
as the independent variable ant the other variables included in the study was considered as dependent variable. The total sample size of the study 128 participants and the samples were collected using surveys. The analysis was conducted using the software SPSS and the analysis used in the study was one way ANOVA. Since there was no statistically significant difference between Veteran and Novice none of the null hypothesis was accepted in the study.
Teaching is a profession in which the majority of educators' work is scrutinised for its effectiveness and accuracy in pushing children to their highest levels of performance and development. Self-Efficacy is the degree to which one believes in one's own ability to perform in any situation. For the purposes of this study, self-efficacy will be defined as a person's perceived ability to establish and complete daily classroom operations (Bandura, 1997). On various levels, teachers have expressed their dissatisfaction with a perceived lack of support in the classroom. Teachers who are involved in the curriculum and instruction planning and development phases are less likely to have trouble creating a classroom culture that caters to all students' interests and needs (Sivri & Balci, 2015).
The process by which a teacher engages in building and establishing rapport with students is inextricably linked to his or her perceived self-efficacy. Teacher efficacy has an impact on instructional strategies in addition to the classroom environment. A dominant factor in the learning process can be a teacher's efficacy (Sivri & Balci, 2015).
The main problems that are stated in the study are the management of the learning environment, including student engagement in the classes, and the successful execution of rigorous curriculum, is a general problem for veteran and novice teachers. The specific problem to be addressed in the research study is the efficacy beliefs of novice and veteran teachers and how the level of teacher self-efficacy may lead to teacher performance in the classroom (Benigno, 2016). Teachers who demonstrate high self-efficacy tend to be amiable in their tactics to differentiated instructional strategies (Shoulders & Krei, 2015).
Many of the literatures states that the teachers face very strong difficulty in managing the class in interactive method which is due to the self-efficacy of the teachers. The most important job of the teacher was the classroom management to build a strong culture in the classrooms and the actual participation of the teachers.
The main purpose to conduct the study was to evaluate the difference between Novice and Veteran teachers. For the purpose of this study, a novice teacher will be defined as teachers with 0-3 years of teaching experience and a veteran teacher will be defined as teachers with more than three years of experience (Hattie, 2012). Evidence addressing self-efficacy may immerge that will provide insights into any differences between novice and veteran teachers and how they self-report on the Teacher Sense of Efficacy Scale (TSES). The finding of the study may be used to create a better teacher evaluation system. Additionally, the research study may assist administrators in identifying ways in which to support teachers who have high or low self-efficacy to be effective within the classroom in ways that increase student engagement and achievement.
The significance of the study was filling up the missing literature and the chance could make a good practice for school administrators as finding may be used to guide the development and implementation of professional development programs designed to address the needs of novice and veteran teachers more effectively. The study could also make an insight in the teachers and the collected data can be used by the different school in different methods for the...
