To practice with these objects, we are going to create the basic shapes to construct a

building similar to a cathedral.

1. We start a new drawing and create a layer called 3D-CATHEDRAL; apply the

green color and make it Current.

2. We create a box with length 100, width 40, and height 45. The first corner

can be at the origin and the opposite corner at 100,40,45.

3. We create another box whose center is at the middle of the top face. We

specify the
Center
option and use the Otrack function to find the center

of the top face. Another way to find the center is to apply individually
3D

Osnap Center of face
(Ctrl
and mouse right button). Then the opposite

corner is @15,15,20. Later, we will combine these boxes.

4. Again with BOX, we create one tower with the dimensions 10,10,30 at one of

the top corners.

5. We copy the last box to the other's front top corner.

6. Now it's time to create two wedges to act as some kind of buttress. We apply

WEDGE, first at the lower-left corner of the box and the dimensions 20,5,40.

7. We create another wedge, same first corner but with dimensions 15,5,30.

8. As both wedges oriented along X, we apply the ROTATE command to rotate

them around the first corner -90 degrees. Later we will subtract the second to

the first wedge.

9. We copy these two wedges twice to have one set at the middle of the edge

and the other at the end.

10. Finally, we mirror these six wedges to the other side of the building.

11. Later we will continue. For now, save the drawing with the name

A3D_05_01FINAL.DWG.
