Assignment Description Objective To gain an understanding of how distributed systems have developed, and the key issues that are involved in developing distributed systems. This assignment is an essay on a distributed systems topic of your choice. Your essay should contain the following components: ? An introduction that contains a brief summary of your topic and outlines the content of your essay. ? A discussion of why your topic is important in the design of distributed systems. ? A discussion of the major issues/factors involved in your topic. ? A discussion of related topics, and how your topic relates to these. ? A summary that presents the significant aspects discussed during the essaye. ? References Your essay should be a maximum of 5 pages, 12 pt font including references. You will need to submit your essay in PDF format in the file Assignment4.pdf. Do not forget to add this file to your SVN repository. You should use appropriate referencing for any work that you wish to refer to in your report. Remember that it is not generally appropriate to include large sections of other documents (i.e. whole sentences) even if cited.
