WOAC CLASS #002-2004 INFORMATION PAPER WOBC-##-### 18 July 2007 SUBJECT: Graded Information Paper 1. Purpose. To provide you information on how to prepare your information paper. 2. Facts. a. If you follow this format, you cannot go wrong. Your office symbol is your class number. Note the alignment of paragraphs and subdivisions. Use Arial, 12pt Font. b. You have the option of writing an information paper one or two pages long. Ensure you follow the instructions as outlined in the scenario. If you have a continuation page, then follow the format shown in Figure 2-2, Pdf 19-20, AR 25-50, Preparing and Managing Correspondence. c. You decide whether or not to use subdivisions. Remember the following if you decide to use them: (1) Subdivisions are optional. Used appropriately, however, they help provide clarity. (2) Where there is an “a” there must be a “b”, and where there is a “(1)” there must be a “(2)”. (3) When in doubt about the use of subdivisions, see Figure 2-1, Pdf 18, AR 25-50. d. Other helpful reminders are as follows: (1) Paragraph 1-17, AR 25-50 governs the use of acronyms; however, when in doubt spell it out. Form plural acronyms by adding a lower case “s” (NCOs not NCO’s). Appendix B-9c, AR 25-50 covers the use of numbers. Spell out numbers whenever they begin a sentence. (2) Proof read your paper. By doing so, you will avoid the loss of valuable points. Moreover, if you write your paper well, the grading process will not take as long. e. List at least one reference in the last paragraph of your paper. WOBC-##-### SUBJECT: Graded Information Paper f. Your Action Officer (AO) line must contain your rank, full name and AKO or other email address. No other information is required. Place it two lines down from the last line of your last paragraph, and ensure you align it to the right. Do not sign your AO line. g. Reference.
