Analysis of ‘The Notebook’
The movie ‘The Notebook’ was directed by Nick Cassavetes and released on the 5th of June, 2004. The story revolves around the love story of a young couple in the 1940’s who fall in love quickly and deeply over the period of a few months. However, their family status and other differences do not allow them to be together (Safé, 2018). Eventually they are separated for a period of 14 years, after which they reunite and get together again in spite of the girl’s prior engagement. Even though the couple unite, the story ends on a tragic note 49 years later.

Their going through all the ordeals while believing in each other’s love creates the particular heightened ending for them- dying together (Hidayat, 2015).
The movie presents two simple characters as protagonists. There is the girl, Allie who is a free-minded fun-loving girl. She isn’t much concerned about the status or wealth of the man she falls in love with. Allie is weak in the...
