Title: Interview Report Task Description: Undertake an interview with a person working in a leadership role in a military healthcare service and prepare a report (2,000 words) on the outcomes of that interview in line with the learning module material. The purpose of this interview is to find out about the leadership traits and characteristics of the person you are interviewing and to gain some insight as to how they may have been developed or shaped in their career etc. ● what traits and characteristics they feel they have in their leadership style ● what factors (e.g. personality, situational, learned etc.) influenced, affected and emerged those traits and characteristics ● any issues or aspects of leadership traits and characteristics they think leading in the health care environment are important, difficult, need to be developed etc. Prepare a report on the findings and relationship to the literature and learning from the learning module material. Develop an appropriate framework or approach to compare and contrast findings from interview to the traits and characteristics outlined in the literature in the learning module material. Include in the report discussion on findings; learning; and any issues related to traits and characteristics of the leader in a healthcare environment. Refer to appropriate literature to support your analysis and findings. Remember do not identify who your interviewee is in the report. Report should be presented in the following format. Introduction (200+/- words) • Provide an overview of the concept of healthcare system leadership. Content (1600+/- words) • Methodology (includes detail of leadership role; military healthcare services; how interview was carried out; reference to questions used. • Results/Findings (main outcomes from the interview) • Discussion (short discussion from outcomes of the interview and relationship to literature etc. Compare and contrast information from the interview with learning module material, literature reviewed and your own views and opinions.) - Contemporary perspectives on leadership, leadership theories and practice - Compare and contrast the roles of leadership in a complex military healthcare sector environment and non-military healthcare sector environment - Discuss on developing and strengthening abilities to work in complex health care settings including understanding the power, politics and alliances necessary for effective health organisations Conclusion (200+/- words) • Summary of key highlights of the discussion.   Criteria & Marking:  Information, analysis and presentation of findings from interview Critical evaluation and relevance of discussion  Organisation, structure and presentation of report  Use of literature in presentation or findings and report Learning Outcomes Assessed: 1 Have a strong understanding of contemporary perspectives on leadership, leadership theories and practice 2 Have an in-depth knowledge of the roles of leadership in the complex military healthcare sector environment and non-military healthcare sector environment 3 Develop and strengthen abilities to work in complex health care settings including understanding the power, politics and alliances necessary for effective health organisations
