This unit’s assigned reading focuses on chemical-induced mutagens. As you are aware from the reading, not all carcinogens are mutagens. For this assignment, compare and contrast a carcinogen that is a mutagen to a carcinogen that is not a mutagen. Find at least four peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last 7 years that discuss the carcinogens and the cancer that each causes.

Compare the means of exposure of each chemical and the type of cancer each causes. Be sure to integrate the perspective and information gathered from each article into a discussion in your own words.

The Business Source Complete database is a good source of journals for safety-related articles from the CSU Online Library.

Your literature review must include the following components:

◾ an introduction of your topic of choice (include some background information on the origins of exposure and cancer),

◾ the methods used to search for the articles,

◾the results of the articles,

◾a discussion and conclusion with your own opinion, and

◾APA references and in-text citations for the article.

The literature review must be three to four pages in length and follow APA formatting.

Introduction
Cancer, the leading cause of disease in a today’s world. This disease can be occur in any person or any group but it is known to be dominated among aging population. Cancer is caused by uncontrolled growth of the abnormal group of cells also known as cancer cells. This disease mutated the cell genome. It is multi gene and multi-step disease usually originates from the single cell. Many rounds of mutation and expansion leads to the formation of the tumor mass. The progression of the tumor eventually leads to other parts of the cell. Initiation and spreading of the cancer are due to both internal and external environment.
Method
To search the relevant research paper needed for this article, online database search was done. First, CSU online library was visited to retrieve the data from a Business source database. Visit the site and click on the database Icon. The long list of databases will appear on the screen. In B index, choose the business source ultimate database. Login the account and add keywords in search tab to proceed the search.
First, search for the keyword carcinogen. 187,444 results will be displayed on the screen. To narrow down the results using Boolean search, use two keywords combination like carcinogen and/or mutagen, and carcinogen and/or non-mutagen. 40,869 results will appear on the screen. To further narrows the results, click on the years and select years between 2011 and 2018. This will decrease the search to mere 1605 research papers. Papers from recent years has been selected.

The exposure of radiation, harmful chemicals can trigger the cancer in a person. It can also get inherited, triggered by metabolic mutation, hormones and immune conditions. The disease can also be caused by hepatitis B virus and Human Immuno Virus. The causal agents of cancer are known as carcinogen and mutagens (Jacob et al., 2013). It was suggested by Kirkland et al. (2014) that non-mutagens are the chemicals that do not show the properties of mutagen but they are capable of inducing or triggering cancer. Sutter et al. (2013) proposed that the mutagens are responsible for inducing the cancer.
All mutagens are carcinogenic. Mutagens and carcinogen are not...
