a) Introduction to Virtucon Consultancy
The organizations like Virtucon Consultancy and Globex are providing services on global level. The Virtucon Consultancy is a well established agency having more than five offices in Australia and New Zealand. The Virtucon Consultancy is planning to develop a new office, so, implementation requirements which may be functional, non-functional and technical need to be collected and addressed. The Virtucon Consultancy provides services in area of IT and business consultancies in Australia and across the globe. As a project manager at Virtucon Consultancy, the network engineering, system analysis, It management and business analysis are required to be performed [Laplante, 2017]. As a network engineer, I have to perform the requirement collections for development of new office so that the consultancy services can be provided and services will not affect. The role of project manager is assigned to me.
b) Functional business requirements
The Virtucon Consultancy is a leading organization established in Australia which is providing services in areas of IT consultancies, and business consultancies [Chung & Nixon, 1995]. The following functional requirements will be considered for establishing the new office from Virtucon Consultancy as listed below:
1. Services of directories for data transfer from one site to other: This is the most important functional requirements for a network engineer. In this, the setup to transfer the data files from one site or office to any other office of Virtucon Consultancy will be performed. This functional requirement will justify cost and will also require security implementations for data and file transfer.
2. Providing remote based support to the IT based systems: The Virtucon Consultancy has a different office which provides business and IT consultancies. For providing these consultancies, different IT based systems are being used. The implementation of these IT based systems which can be operated remotely from any office of Virtucon Consultancy will require cost. The security of IT systems will also be a considerable functional requirement for Virtucon Consultancy.
3. Staff mobility to new office of Virtucon Consultancy: When Virtucon Consultancy creates a new office, then, the new staff will also be required. The Virtucon Consultancy can perform mobility of its experienced staff at new site to provide improved services to the related customers.
4. Disaster recovery at new site of Virtucon Consultancy: In most of the previous systems, disaster recovery is considered as the non-functional requirement but in modern time, disaster recovery is considered as most important functional requirement for any new business idea. The Virtucon Consultancy is providing IT and business Consultancy and making remote based IT systems. So, the chance of any disaster will definitely increase.
