Reflective Task Overview In this journal you are required to reflect on the course as a whole. Through the workshops and your engagement with the learning materials you will accumulate learnings about various aspects of problem solving and about your own reflexivities and practices as a student, as a problem solver, and as a team/group member. We strongly encouraged you to write a reflection each week, at the end of class or soon afterwards, while your experiences are fresh in your mind. You should of filed these and used them when writing your final learning reflection submission. A technique you may wish to employ is to ask yourself what your three key takeaways from the class/online session were, and to write about those. In doing this, you will collate your reflections on the lessons you learned from your experiences within this course, such as: what worked well, what didn’t, and summarising your entire experience based on your key learnings and take away’s. Overall Possible Questions to Answer Your journal submission should seek to consider these questions: 1. What did you learn in this course? Discuss approx five examples of learning situations you were involved in during the course. 2. What would you do differently in each of those learning situations? Critically discuss how you could approach them differently? 3. What did you learn about problem-solving from this course? What were the five key skills you learned and what will you take with you into your career? Reflection Rubric Trimester 2 Reflection Rubric Structure – essay!     An integral component in business and management is problem solving. Apart from business, problem solving is very important need in daily life. One of the aspects of problem solving is reflection. As suggested by Zelazo (2015), is the process, in which humans willing to learn about themselves mainly their nature, purpose and character. This course ‘31141BA-Management Problem Solving’ has taught me the need for feedback and using problem solving as a learning opportunity. As mentioned by Beech, McGill and Brockbank (2017), reflective learning is a method, in which student reflects upon its learning experiences. Reflective learning provides us the opportunity to determine what we have learned and how we can use our learning in future. As suggested by Gould (2016), reflective learning is deep learning process, which promotes critical thinking and analysing.
This method is helpful in developing framework for the further studies. This essay reflects my deep learning on some of very interesting and important topics such as creative problems solving, conflict management, change management, wicked problems and system thinking. All these topics not only provide the knowledge of the subject but I have also learnt the practical application of all these topics. As mentioned by Mertens (2015), learning the concept of wicked problems and effective ways of sorting these problems, also knowing the reasons they remain unsolved has helped me in looking at the loopholes remain in the conflict. Learning of system thinking allowed me to use the holistic approach of getting system works in order. This essay is a self-reflection of my learning of the course and knowing the scope to learn further.
Key Takeaway 1— Creative Problems Solving
Creative problem solving is a method used for solving problems or challenges that arises using innovative idea. As suggested by Cromwell, Amabile and Harvey (2018), it is a process that is helpful in redefining the problem faced and opportunities meet through an imaginative way. This method covers up innovative responses, solutions, and actions taken to redefine the problems. As mentioned by Medeiros (2015), this method creates better solutions and positive experience the increase the absorption of attractive ideas. There are diverse approaches, which are used as a creative problem-solving process. One of such process is brainstorming.
As suggested by Levine, Alexander, Wright and Higgins (2016), brainstorming is a group creative approach, by which efforts are made to find out the solutions for specific problem. This is done by collecting ideas randomly by all the members of the group. It is a process, in which people meet to develop innovative solutions to problems by removing the occurrence of barriers. All the ideas are noted and then analysed. Best ideas are kept and useless ideas are eliminated to choose the final idea for implementation. In this course, I have become part of many brainstorming groups, where we have given the problems and group are formed. This activity helps in developing trust and cultivates the team playing lessons. It encourages everyone to contribute and give ideas. This activity is helpful in brain teasing and challenges them to achieve their creativity....
