This paper is a final project for Database Design. This class focuses on understanding fundamental Oracle SQL. In the additional materials you will find 3 files. One is the instructions for the assignment with 5 activities. One contains an example of a completed project. The Activity 1 document is the already completed and already submitted part 1 of the project.
Using the instructions as a rubric and the sample as a guide, and requirements from activity #1 that I have added. I need someone to completed the following Activities #2 - #5. This will include creating a database and the following documents based on the instructions of Final Project Spring 2020.docx. Price is very negotiable, but I need this done by Sunday deadline no exceptions.
Activity #1 Writing the Business Case Documenting the Business Reporting Requirements. Deliverables: 1. A 300-500 word abstract (single spaced, 12 Point font) that answers the following questions about your (hypothetical) business case: a. The name of the business b. The nature of the business c. Scope and size of the business d. Description of the business model (For example how does it make money?) e. Description of customers and services f. Current business problems (Why does the business need a database system?) 2. A complete listing of the business reporting requirements (Minimum of five) (For example the business might need a report that lists reported sales of a particular category each month) Method: Think about a creative and interesting business that is small enough to describe, and that would have a business need to improve its data capturing and reporting capability. You should clearly understand, and articulate the business model. This should be a hypothetical company, so be creative. Just remember, don’t let the scope get too large. Activity #2 Develop the E-R Model for the Business. Deliverables: 1. A document that shows the data set for the company. These are the data elements the company needs to keep track of such as names, phone numbers and dates. 2. Dependency diagrams to show normalization of the data. 3. The normalized Entity Relationship Diagram for the business. Method: Using data modeling techniques covered in the text, develop the ER diagrams using either Word or Visio. Visio is a diagramming tool used in IT so you might consider buying a student version available from the Microsoft store. Show all of your work to include all normalization from 1NF 2NF 3NF as well as all primary key and foreign key constraints. COP2701 Database Design and Implementation Final Project Instructions Database Life Cycle Project Spring 2020 Updated due to COVID-19 Activity #3 Develop a Data Dictionary for the logical model. Deliverables: The Data Dictionary for the logical ER model. Method: Create a data dictionary for the logical model of the relational database. Include all fields used for data collection such as first name, last name and address. Activity #4 Write the SQL data definition language, data manipulation language script to physically implement the logical design. Deliverables: Develop on script using SQL to develop your database tables, populate the tables with at least ten records and develop all of the business reporting requirements. Method: Using SQL DDL syntax, write the script that will build all of the relational tables based on your ER model. Be sure to include all of the fields in your Data Dictionary in the SQL script. Create the SQL needed to populate your database and develop your business reporting requirements using SQL. Activity #5 Develop a mockup of the User Interface (UI) requirements. (10 points extra credit) Deliverables: A document that describes and illustrates how the user interface might behave. You can use any of the open source or freeware that is available or you can sketch out the interface by hand then take a picture. You must regardless of the tool you use copy and paste your interface into your final project word document Method: User interface is extremely important in application development. Business processes must be taken into account so that the development of the UI implements with a better transition. Provide a document that illustrates and describes how the UI should work to meet business needs. Activity #1 Writing a Business Case Documenting the Business Reporting Requirements The name of the company is called Saber Interactive. The primary purpose of the studio is to create, develop and produce video games for the PC, Xbox, PlayStation consoles. As an indie development company their scope is relatively small currently having released 1 game with two more in development one just released, and the other project just being started. The primary scope is to continue to build their sales, marketing, and development teams to gather a larger market share of the indie game market. The company deliberates on the scale of project they want to undertake. The C-level management team deliberates on the types of game they would like to create. Then a project is created to implement that goal. The goal is creating, marketing, and selling a game that will not only bring good publicity to the studio, but also to generate profit. The secondary objective is for the game to have a marketable competitive aspect this allows for the game to gain more views and participation in community tournaments and online streams. The online streams generate more publicity for the game. Increasing the size of sponsors, the size of tournaments, and fan base of the game. The types of customers and services are as follows the profits from the video game original purchase and the microtransactions, marketing of advertisements, advertisements from tournaments and sponsors. The microtransactions are in-game digital cosmetic items that allow the player to stylize their in-game model character depending on the item. The types of customers are going to be the consumer of the game which are those that play the game. Then there are the consumers that only spectate the game at tournaments. Then the gained revenue from the advertisements/sponsors during the tournaments. The major business problem is keeping the revenue and cost balanced. Finding the areas that they can improve to increase potential profits and decrease costs of the business. This includes the aspect of creating the game, marketing the game, and improving publicity and spectator engagement. 2) The DBMS that will be created will provide an excellent source of data to report efficiently the profits and the cost of the business and to use that data to improve revenue. 1) Game sales, and microtransactions across multiple distributions – Xbox, PC, PlayStation 2) Server activity across the three platforms and which people play on more (active players / time) 3) Project costs – How many projects in development with budget and timelines and employees 4) Marketing – types of company marketing schemes that work best cost/benefits comparison (Gameplay, Trailers, Concept Art, Development Blogs) 5) Inventory - This keeps track of physical inventory of the product in retail stores and a warehouse.
