Qno.1
a) Normally we expect health and exercise to be positively correlated in the sense that a person doing exercise will have
good health. The number the exercise hours are more the healthier the person would be. So we expect a perfect strong linear association in the sense that e would be almost negligible. Hence if correlation exists between e and exercise there is bias in the data and hence results are not reliable.
b) Disthome and distwork are the distances from home in miles. We are not sure whether the persons go by walk to these places or go by vehicles. If they do not use their legs to walk, health would not be correlated with these variables. And hence except in these cases, there is a chance that these are likely to be uncorrelated with e, because when they walk and reach it becomes a healthy exercise thus improving health.
Qno.2
Normally we expect when educated, they will be skilled to do any work more efficiently. And hence the wages would have a direct effect on wages.
a. Beta 2 would have a positive sign since when education increases, wages also can be expected to increase.
b. As experience increases, we can say wages increase upto middle age and then decline. If middle age is a,then we can say (a-exper) if >0 would give negative results otherwise positive results. So we get Beta 3 would be positive while beta 4 would be negative because this parabola would be open down with...
