Part A: Upon selecting one of the scenarios, you are required to complete the following requirements. • Industry background: Review the industry involved in the chosen data set and provide a brief yet comprehensive overview of that industry sector, including brief history*, current environment* and transformations* and future scope* (See Main Submission Requirements/Structure for report layout) • Business model and environment: Identify the business model best suited to the scenarios as well as identifying their target audience and value proposition. Using the following analysis methods conduct an analysis of the chosen business using SWOT analysis and Porters 5 forces. • Excel Tasks: Complete the unfinished spreadsheet with appropriate field labels. Also, where necessary provide additional columns (with appropriate formulas) to meet the information needs of the business. Then use the spreadsheet data to identify three (3) trends or insights that a manager can identify to gain a competitive advantage. Part B: The second part of the assignment will be mainly focused on developing a non-functioning business website mock-up. As a designer, you may consult with your tutor to ensure you accurately reflect the requirements of your proposed design. You must also consider basic design principles to justify your design and user interface. As well as the web and design elements, a vital part of this assignment is the perceived business advantage; you must be able to prove that the business will benefit from your design. Tasks for this part of the assignment include: • Design a minimum of three (3) main prototype pages for your proposed website using a software drawing program like Visio, MS paint, etc (DO NOTE use web site builders like Wix and GoDaddy). Including a 1 Main page (homepage) and a Purchasing/bookings page (dependant on the chosen scenario) with a direct design reference to the product categories from the spreadsheet. Also create a simulated output product page. • Discuss the elements within those pages in relation to the design principles and web usability guidelines (choose 3 HCI design principles and 3 web usability guidelines). • Identify three (3) additional customer tools and or engagement methods the website can use to increase its competitive advantage. Business Scenario Requirements Several small business scenarios with accompanying raw data sets are available to you (via the unit website). All of which require a detailed business analysis and the development of a mock-up public information system interface (i.e. business web site). Your task is to choose one of these scenarios for which you will complete the tasks as detailed in Parts A and B. The business scenarios include; 1. Executive Summary
Harry’s Bikes has a business of wholesale importer and distributor of unique and sports bikes and the accessories. They are very well known for their cycles in Europe, Asia and Americas.
The motive to write this report is to explore the Bicycle repair and retail services. This report will allow us to understand the working of Harry’s cycle and their business environment. We will get an opportunity to analyse the SWOT and porte
r’s five forces with respect to the Harry’s Cycle. We can calculate the opportunity that lies for this business.
A proposal has been given for Harry’s Cycle to start the web selling of the products. This will allow the users to compare the products and buy the online. We will design a simplistic, straightforward and useful web pages.

Introduction
Harry’s Bikes is a 12 years old company which is owned by Australian owner and it is been growing continuously. It has evolved as largest distributor and importer of bikes in Australia throughout these years. It includes sports and unique bikes. They provide a very wide range of products which includes bikes and accessories also. Harry’s Bikes have unique niche bikes which makes them central supplier for Europe, Asia and America.
Basically, Harry’s Bikes was founded in 1991 by two local riders. They were very passionate about club riding. They started their business with the idea of “peddle power should be affordable for everyone”. They wanted to import parts for the foreign bikes.
The main aim of this report is to provide them some actionable information and data which can help them to grow in their field. A major growth can be seen in Bicycle retail and repair industry which can help Harry’s Bikes with various opportunities to large scale. They can become major international supplier by using web reseller.
Part A: Evaluation of the Business
Industry Background
This industry includes the sales of bicycles, parts and also the accessories. It also provides servicing and maintenance. They do not handle the supplies from general store. The selling of bikes can be done using sporting goods retailers or online. According to the Australian demographic variations, the bicycle retailing and repairing industry has an enormous growth.
Over the last 5 years the interest for bicycle or cycle is not limited to weekday commuters. People are becoming aware about their health and environment consciousness. This results in strong progress of retailing and repairing industry.
In the last 5 years this industry has forecasted to increase 6.3% and reaching $773.4. (Tommy Wu,2016)
In Australia 3.6million of people account to riding a bike each week as the National Cycling Participation Survey suggests. (Austroads, 2017) This can help to understand that cycling is the major part of transportation in Australia.
Business Model and Environment
According to the current scenario of the business there are two business models which suits this the best. These two models are ‘Bricks and clicks’ and ‘Buy/Sell Fulfilment’. These both models are combined to relate with the case in best way. These models will help to describe Harry’s model in the best way.
‘Bricks and Clicks’ model is based on the idea when company uses both offline and online components. (Rappa,2007) Bricks is used for offline setup as bricks are required in it. Clicks is used for online setup as customer need to click on the product to buy it. Products of Harry’s Bikes can be bought offline. Addition to the offline system, customers can use the web design to purchase the bikes or accessories.
Furthermore, Harry’s Bikes includes ‘Buy/Sell Fulfilment’ model also in their business. This model itself identifies to take orders for customers to purchase goods and services. It also includes terms as delivery and pricing. Harry’s Bikes mainly focus on selling their products and services related with the products to customers which relates to the Sell fulfilment model.
