Research assignment Guidelines Research Assignment Guidelines The topic you will be talking about is How to train your dog. Then, make an initial list of five or more questions that you want answered about your topic. Next, your task will be to critically synthesize research from outside academic sources using relevant academic books and/or articles, so that you will become well informed about your chosen topic and be able to answer your questions. In the end, you will write and submit an analytical research paper based on in-depth answers to three (3) of your questions and explain (for each answered question) how this information is useful for you personally or professionally, or both, and how the research that you have done has changed or impacted your understanding of this topic. Your paper should consist of: 1. An introductory paragraph where you briefly introduce your topic, explain why you picked it, and what your 3 key questions are. 2. Then, you need to dedicate at least one paragraph to answering each of your 3 key questions, by critically synthesizing the research available from academic sources (with in-text citations). At the end of each such paragraph, you must explain how the information you learned is useful for you personally and professionally. 3. You must end your paper with a clear conclusion, discussing any general conclusions to be drawn from your research, how the research that you have done on each of the questions has changed or impacted your understanding of this topic, and any unanswered questions you may want answered, but which have not yet been answered in the literature. 4. Your paper should be about 5-7 pages long, typed, double-spaced and written in a Times New Roman 12-pt. font. It must be written in complete sentences, paragraph form (no point form!), and adhere to an academic paper format. You must use APA to cite all outside sources or ideas used in your work.
