This is a Graduate course in Theology The New TestamentMatthew 20-23 contains a clear account of the opposition to Jesus that climaxed in his crucifixion.

Write a 1,000-1,250-word paper on how the various groups seen in the passages resisted Jesus and how they orchestrated his execution.



  1. Research the political opposition to Jesus during his last visit to Jerusalem for Passover.

  2. Review the various confrontations between Jesus and the different political groups recorded in Matthew 20-23.

  3. Analyze the conflict from various perspectives, including differing messianic concepts, political tensions, and religious and theological factors.

  4. Address carefully how Jesus dealt with these conflicts and what these tell the church of our confrontation with the world.
