This group assessment asks you to work as a collaborative group to explore the theoretical concepts behind nursing theory by asking you to choose a nursing theorist and present your findings to class using the guidelines provided.



This assessment will encourage you further to work together by:
•    Encouraging collaboration and cooperation
•    Assigning responsibility for the task and its components
•    Leadership, delegation and coordination
•    Preparing and presenting the report
•    Encouraging an awareness of the potential and actual issues that may arise and techniques for managing these difficulties


Guidelines:


1.    A brief biography of your chosen nursing theorist

2.    Summarise the theory and how it relates to modern nursing practice. Why is it important? What aspect of nursing care does it promote or assist?

3.    Provide one example of the nursing theory and its use in research literature

4.    Provide one example of how you may use the nursing theory in clinical practice
5.    Write an individual reflective piece about the group assignment process. What went well? What could be improved? (Note: this is to be included in your written submission only)


Important information:
•    All members of the group must play a role in the presentation to class
•    Each presentation must be 5 - 10 mins in duration

•    You may use powerpoints, videos or other multimedia to assist with your presentation
•    You will be expected to submit a written form of your presentation in essay  format  to the dropbox provided on brightspace by 9am 24/05/2017
