This example is a modification of the Burnit advertising example in Example 9.1. Now we assume that Burnit’s client is concerned only with two groups of people, men and women. Also, the number of exposures to these groups is now a nonlinear square root function of the number of ads placed of any particular type. This implies a marginal decreasing effect of ads—each extra ad of a particular type reaches fewer extra people than the previous ad of this type.
