This course includes a signature assignment due in Week 8. The purpose of the signature assignment is to demonstrate a synthesis of readings, research, and practical knowledge to address a contemporary issue in education. Your ability to identify relevant issues, research scholarly literature, and engage in critical analysis to propose strategic recommendations are central to the role of a doctorally prepared educational professional.
Identify
a contemporary issue in education with substantial legal implications that you expect to advance in both scope and scale within the next 3-5 years.
Prepare
a 175-to 350-word abstract that includes the following:
· The contemporary issue you identified;
· A narrative summary that explains the issue’s potential impact on your organization or discipline
· A brief justification using one empirical, peer-reviewed source to support the relevance of your issue.
Section II: Issue Description
- Write a fully developed issue description that (a) identifies the contemporary issue in education; (b) provides a relevant context and background of the issue; and (c) justifies the relevance of the issue in relation to your organization or discipline.
- Ensure the description reaches the 350-word minimum.
- Ensure the description is formatted according to APA guidelines (cover page not needed).
Sections III & IV: Impact and Legal Analyses
- Identify 3 empirical, peer-reviewed sources that will be used in your impact and legal analyses sections (a minimum of one per section).
- Provide the following for each source:
- APA formatted reference
- 100- to 150-word content summary that clearly explains how the source will inform the analysis section
Section V: Strategic Recommendations
- Write a draft of 1 proposed strategic recommendation with enough detail to outline the primary- and sub-points of the section.
- Reference at least 1 empirical, peer reviewed source.
Note: Use APA formatting for in-text citations and your peer-reviewed source reference. The content of your abstract can be less formal, but should use complete sentences and proper grammar/mechanics.
