This can be a very emotional topic and assignment for many as it taps into the core beliefs we have about ourselves, which if destructive, can greatly affect the quality of our lives. If you struggle with self-esteem issues this assignment will give you the opportunity to reflect on and challenge such issues. Ans 1. The video was indeed intriguing and perhaps very inspiring to witness people all around the world facing issues with self-esteem. There is no den
ying of the fact that we all have undercome various life experiences that have shaped us as a person. However, we all still give a lot of attention on the physical appearance rather than focusing on what goes deeper than the superficial layer. I observed that approximately 50 people were interviewed from completely diverse backgrounds yet they all spoke how they were insecure about the way they look. Moreover, what stood out even more was how small children were perhaps more comfortable with the way they look than the learned adults. My inference from the video about self-esteem is emotional intelligence. It is the art of being comfortable with our flaws and focusing on the positives to produce better results.
Ans 2. Well, after watching the video I won’t say I would like to change any physical appearances or cosmetic aspects. However, I would like to change my perspective about myself, training mindset towards betterment and growth. Many time, I feel back because of perceptions that others create. However, now I would rather focus in improving my skills and contributing towards holistic growth.
Ans 3. Indeed, the change that I have identified in previous questions is realistic and that would make me much healthier. Being healthy doesn’t mean absence of disease, however it is more about pursuing a holistic lifestyle. Essentially, I want to focus on developing a growth mindset allowing me to fail and move forward. Channelising my energy in productivity activities like going for regular workouts in order to stay in shape, reading books in order to feed positive thoughts to brain and at last building healthy habits to enable me to become better version of myself.
