Cyborg is commonly thought as a mammal, which is partly mechanical and partly, biological. A person can be considered as cyborg when the body of that pers
on has been improved through technologies and from that moment, the person is mainly, but not entirely a human.
A person can also be considered as cyborg where they are found to use specific technologies such as Google glass or even laptops or desktops in order to perform task. Cybernetics studies the concept of control and communication within a living organism as well as machine.
Cybernetics focuses on how this organism digitally, mechanically, or even biologically process information, respond to it and changes for better functioning. This paper will highlight the review of a Cyber oriented movie, which describes about a half woman half robot where she gains all kind of information implanted in her computer brain and protect the Earth from plague threatening population and also will focus the multiple issues arises in a cybernetic society.
Synopsis of the Movie “Cyborg (1989)”
The movie Cyborg was released in 7 April 1989 in USA with a motto to deliver the audience the main purpose and importance of martial arts, the cybernetic, which includes scientific achievements, technological; advancements, artificial intelligence and many more in order to save the humanity from the life-threatening disease as stated by Gracio and Gracio. Plague was then killing the major population in US.
Plague created the pandemic prevailing during that time in the US, as it is an infectious disease, which has a serious outcome. It had spread worldwide, affecting a substantial number of people. After observing the miserable condition, the surviving doctors as well as the scientists from The United States Center for Diseases Control and Prevention volunteers Pearl Prophet in order to collect computed information collected from several source and implant all the information on the digital brain of Pearl.
The main mission of Pearl is to collect all the hidden information related to this disease and supply the sources to the scientists and doctors in order to protect the humanity. Therefore, for this dangerous courier mission, the scientists and the doctors transform Pearl into a Cyborg through surgical augmentation. The movie highlights how Peral with the help of her bodyguard Marshall Strat retrieves the data in New York.
However, unfortunately, they were tracked and chased by vicious Fender Tremolo with his gang who wants to ruin their plan, as he himself wants the cure plan so that he himself can have a monopoly on its production. The movie then further proceeds with several conflict as well as fighting scenes where Strat was badly injured by the gang of Tremolo and Pearl was rescued by a slinger named Gibson Rickenbacker.
The movie further highlights how Tremolo with his bad intentions ruin several families and kill several people in order to achieve his goal and purpose. Reaching Atlanta safely with the collected resource became a challenging one, for which Pearl had to take several risks and confronted several fights with Tremolo.
Review of the Film “Cyborg (1989)”
The movie Cyborg focuses on the life-threatening and infectious disease plague, for the treatment of which the doctors and scientists were worried. They were searching for a solution as a cure. Hence, they needed some relevant and computed information, for which they created a half woman and half robot kind of organism and it was send to serve the dangerous courier mission.
The robot was programed to collect all the information, implant them in her digital brain and to bring it back safely for the scientists as well as doctors, waiting for her in Atlanta. In her mission, she had to face a number of challenges and barriers, fought with Fender her enemy with the help of her rescuer and her bodyguard and finally reached at her destination safely.
The movie highlights the importance of Martial art, which was most prevalent during that time in US, which was performed by several artist in order to protect themselves from several crimes. As stated by Cynarski, it was codified as a traditional system of combat practices due to several reasons such as military, law enforcement applications, self-defense, mental satisfaction, physical competition spiritual development, entertainment and many more.
The movie was directed by Albert Pyun, produced by Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus jointly, written by Albert Pyun as well as Daniel Hubbard-Smith. It starred Jean-Claude van Damme, Deborah Richter, Dayle Haddon and Vincent Klyn. It soundtrack was directed by Lalo Schifrin and Kevin Bassinson.
