From the flowchart itself, we can get a glance at the business process in a single shot. The flowchart is nothing but a tree diagram representing the flow of the process and its roots up to where the process will end. This process has some drawbacks where we need to solve for a better business process that leads the organization on the right path that is profitable and optimal.[ Abraham, R.,] Here, the choose organization is the online store that takes the orders from the customer and delivers them to the particular customer in a given period. First, it will check the inventory available for the specific product. If it exists in the stock, then the order will be shipped and delivered to the customer. If the product does not exist in the inventory, it needs to be reordered and wait for the merchandise. If the inventory that supplies arrived, then the product will be shipped and delivered. In this process, there are some demerits where sometimes there not present the inventory then need to wait for the supply and need to reorder, so it needs to be overcome where the all the time inventory needs to show so that the business process will improve.[ Abraham, R.,] Efficacy: The industry is an online store where it receives the order and delivers to the customer. It can take orders and make the shipment and deliver to the respected customer as in the given period. In this process, the product is present in the inventory; then only the order can be confirmed or otherwise need to be reordered. Process Improvement Flow Chart: The process of the business will be improved by maintaining the inventory at all times available and need to change the steps in the process. It needs to be an optimal and short length of the process where the customer easily accesses the product by simple steps.[ Aerssen, B.v] Metric and Measure: The metrics of the business taking the order count per day of the various products and also the measure is the count of the orders of the product per day. These are the main essentials or the consideration metric and measure in the business.[ Aerssen, B.v] The defined metrics and measures are the key features to know the business process and the business performance. By changing the business, we can check these metrics in the future that there is any change in the metric that can explain the improvement of the company. This will also help us know how changing the business process will lead to business improvement. We already improved the business process from the initial stage. To prepare changes in input assets as required benefits, SPC combines individuals, materials, strategies, machines, and estimates. When it comes to processing a vendor order, it helps to make things go more smoothly when receiving and completing an order. When the SPC for vendor check-in is implemented manually, it saves time and ensures that customers do not have to wait longer for the DSD connection to come through or make mistakes, allowing them to receive service in a timely manner. Evaluation of Control Chart and Process Metrics Complete the following in Excel: · Calculate the defined process metrics including variation and process capability. · Develop and display a control chart for the process. Evaluate the control chart and process metrics using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods. Determine whether the process could benefit from the use of Six Sigma, Lean, or other tools. (Include all calculation and charts.) When using SPC to evaluate a control chart, it is beneficial to provide a general ideological explanation when monitoring process execution and making changes as needed to maintain control. This chart can assist in determining which method is best for checking in vendors based on time and the process that occurs ("SPC Charts," 2020). However, implementing the SPC to reduce defects in the process, things can be made a little better. The SPC assists businesses in shifting away from location-based quality controls and toward prevention-based quality controls. The organization can effectively predict the behavior of the method by observing the SPC chart. The main advantages of using SPC when checking in a vendor are based on the key factors of using SPC, which include, but are not limited to, reducing the need to restart a process, increasing efficiencies, and improving overall quality. It helps to save a lot of time when there are other things that need to be completed in the day by reducing the time it takes when having to start checking in a vendor repeatedly due to DSD issues. Because less time will be spent on repetition, efficiency will be at an all-time high. In addition, progress quality will be higher because there will be fewer issues when manually checking in vendors versus using the DSD technology device. SPC charts plot information points, control limits, and a center line to analyze process execution. Finally, a process should be controlled to evaluate the method's capabilities. Before evaluating process capability, the change must demonstrate the common cause of the change. It is critical to have a significant prepare capability that is not subject to exceptions and variation from a shaky handle. There are seven major steps that we must take when gathering and forming important information about the chart and how it can help the process of checking in vendors. The seven steps are as follows: distinguishing the processes, deciding on quantifiable qualities of the method, the measurement method, concurrently performing the gage R&R, creating a subgroup technique, and examining plans, collecting data and plotting the SPC chart, describing natural variation of properties, and checking method variation. Following further consideration, I believe that processing a vendor order can benefit from using either the SPC or Lean. Aside from the benefits of SPC, it contains all the necessary ingredients to help you perform better on the job when checking in orders. Quality data is gathered in the form of product or process estimations, as well as readings from various machines or instruments. The information is then gathered and used to evaluate, monitor, and control the process. SPC is a method of driving continuous improvement. We can ensure that a process works to its full potential by observing and controlling it ("Introduction to Statistical Process Control (SPC)," 2020). When learning about the lean concept, it is important to first understand what it means. Lean focuses on preserving value by doing less work. The goal is to provide ideal value to consumers through the highest value creation process with zero waste. This is usually accomplished by allowing each employee to maximize their potential in order to generate the greatest amount of commitment (Skhmot, 2021). By utilizing lean on the job, the store can ensure that there is one person checking in the vendor while another person is on the register, an employee out on the sales floor who is willing and able to assist customers with their needs, and another person who can assist the other employees who may or may not require assistance. This idea saves time for the person who is checking in the vendor. Because the store will be covered with help when it is needed for certain sections of the store, that employee will not have to keep stopping to help others, which will lengthen the vendor process. As previously stated, there are numerous advantages to using SPC for vendor verification. Customers will be pleased that workers will be available to listen and offer assistance, productivity will begin to rise, and there will be an opportunity to reduce technology software support requirements and repeating maintenance costs on the DSD device, which will benefit the company overall.
