mobility can have on child and adult health and on communities.
According to experts, mal- nutrition and lack of physical strength and mobility could be
termed responsible for poor growth rate of several nations since; these are the major causes of
chronic diseases such as; obesity, hyper- tension, and diabetes. In addition to above, lower I.Q
could also get resulted from above conditions. Because of such ailments, a child might not be
able to achieve excellent grades in school, and an adult could not perform his professional
responsibilities in a satisfactory manner. From these facts, it could be effortlessly estimated that
how can individuals who are not fit physically as well as mentally ensure the growth of a
community or nation? Therefore; in the agenda of W.H.O, troubles of poor nutrition and lack of
physical fitness and mobility have been kept in priority list, and diverse government as well as
non-government organizations are trying to address above dilemmas effectually throughout the
globe (Mahoney & Barthel, 1965).
•Why do you think poor people experience such poor nutrition with too many high-fat,
high-carbohydrate, and high-calorie but low-nutrient-density foods in their diets?
There could be identified seven key classes of nutrients required by human body which
involve carbohydrates, dietary fibers, vitamins, minerals, fats, proteins, and water. All of these
must be present in optimum quantity in the diet of a person according to his age, weight, height,
gender and physical activity status. A balanced diet fulfills above criteria and ensures vitality
while, diversion from above criteria could result into mal-nutrition and further poor health.
Since; deprived people usually do not take a healthy diet owing to inclusion of such food-
items (as; rice) in their menu which consist of high-fat, high-carbohydrate, and high-calories, but
reduced levels of other nutrients therefore; mal-nutrition and poor-health status are frequently
experienced by them (Wood et al., 1990).
