Significance of conducting hourly patient rounding
Abstract
An Health care organization is usually considered as the best place to achieve positive
health outcomes, but recently it has been investigated that frequency of patients’ accidents (such
as; fall) has been enhanced in health care organizations in past few years. In my opinion, lack of
hourly rounds by nurses can be considered as the key reason of such accidents which can lead
the patients towards nervousness, lack of confidence in movement, and may also extend the care
period. Diverse research studies support the idea that above obstacles can be overcome by
purposeful hourly rounding which must be performed to assess and address patients’ needs.
According to me, in our organization too patients’ safety can be ensured via implementation of
such quality improvement procedure.
In consequence of modernization of world, our life style has also been changed radically,
and because of its adverse impacts, there could be observed numerous persons who depend on
health care organizations for their treatment. Though, being essential components of a health
care organization’s hierarchy, we nurses try to perform our duty in a well manner, but after
analyzing the accidental cases happened in our organization in last few years, I could reach up to
