This assignment is based on Module 3. There are two parts: part A is a Group Report (20%) and part B is a Group Pathway Proposal PowerPoint Presentation (10%). The aim of this assessment is for your group to work together toward problem-solving pathways using one of the five platforms (Housing, Education, Justice, Health and Child Welfare). There are many ways to ensuring a solution/pathway ensures maximum wellbeing for Pasifiika peoples is maintained in Aotearoa New Zealand. For example, as a research project, designing a program, policy development, proposing a bill for legislation or amendment, service provider recommendations and workforce initiatives.
1.    Follow these steps:

2.    Form five groups with four people (depending on class size this could vary)
3.    Decide which of the issues that your group will focus on developing a solution/pathway for it.

4.    Decide what type of solution/pathway your group will develop to address
5.    For your Group report:

•    Discuss Pasifika people's (any Pasifika ethnic group) group experiences and wellbeing in relation to the allocated platform the lecturer has assigned to your group - what has been the status of Pasifika peoples been like? What have been the causes or origins? What have been the impacts?
•    Analyse the solution/pathways that have been employed by communities and government in terms of their effectiveness or not and whether there is a need for further creation of more pathways or not?
•    Reach a consensus about which appropriate solution/pathways your group will recommend as a result including justifications and evidence.

•    Each group member should share in the writing of the group report and one person should be in charge of putting it together including the Introduction and Conclusion.
•    Use a report style format (sub headings, bullet points, diagrams, tables) that describe, argues and makes a strong case. Ensure you have ample time to finish a draft so someone can proof read and edit it before submitting for marking.

•    Your Group report must contain at least seven (7) references in APA 6th Edition format including your in-text referencing formats.

•    Finally, your group report should spend more of the word count toward (1800 words) describing what your solution/pathway is, why it is a good idea and what would be some of the disadvantages to it, how would it work and what outcomes are expected, and relevancy to your social work practice
•    Your chosen group report should make reference to policy implications and strategies in the field chosen; include Pacific concepts in your discussion too. You should research widely for this assignment, using sources from outside of the course readings. Please note that you should only focus on ONE area. So you should delegate each of these things to each group member.
       6.  For your presentation it must a PowerPoint; a task for another group member maybe.

•    For your Group Presentation you are asked to provide a brief overview of your idea/proposal/pathway as discussed in your report (see step 4 onwards) particularly the Pacific concept underpinning it (e.g. how is it linked?) and as a social worker comment on the relevance to our practice and engagement with Pacific/ Pasifika peoples in Aotearoa New Zealand.
