Supreme Court of Indiana
The Supreme Court of Indiana was established by Article 7 of the Constitution of Indiana.
It is the highest judicial authority in the state of Indiana and is located in Indianapolis.
The Chief Justice
· The Justice of the Supreme Court of Indiana is nominated by using the variation of the Missouri plan.
· The Judicial Nominating Commission nominates three qualified people for the position of Justice to the Governor.
· The Governor selects the eligible justice from the given nominations.
· The chief justice presides over the Supreme Court and when its position is back and the senior-most member of the Supreme Court serves as the Chief Justice until a new justice is chosen.
· The chief justice of the Supreme Court of India now also serves as the chairman of the Judicial Nominating Commission.
