Introduction
    The spread of diseases and infection has been attributed to some extent to the phenomenon of globalisation. The current study focuses on the source and transmission of Ebola in relation to globalisation, expressed in contexts of absence of vaccinations for it as well as the ways it could be prevented.
Source and Transmission of Ebola
    The occurrences of diseases and the negative health conditions have recently become a subject of the globalisation that is impact them. As mentioned by Jans et al. (2015), origin and spread of infectious, epidemic diseases are increasing more because the world is undergoing through the phase of globalisation. The changes on the global level, modernisation and enhancement of the living styles have attributed to the impartation of direct as well as indirect impact on the health of the people.
    In case of Ebola, it was noticed that the spread of Ebola was initiated from the fruit bats that were consumed quite commonly in the West Africa, where this disease was first noticed to have been spread (ABC News, 2014). Initially, the source could not be determined as primates such as chimpanzees were found to have infected with this virus. However, the identification of fruit bats as the initial source of the Ebola virus took place, when in 1976, the first case of human infection was reported (Rettner, 2014). Fruit bats are one of the most popular food items in that regions, which could be linked to globalisation because the choice and developing food items from varied sources were a result of contemporary food habits. Further transmission took place through tears, blood streams and saliva contamination of the infected person (WHO, 2014).
Analysing the Reasons behind Ebola not having any Vaccinations unlike other Conditions
    Ebola is a fatal health infection that is spread from the Ebola virus and initiated in West Africa. It, currently, has no treatment procedure or preventive measures such as vaccines to it, which increase the fatality of the case. As mentioned by Osterholm et al. (2016), vaccination is a process of protecting the body of individuals from the infections of various pathogens. It can be done by executing a counter attack by the heat-killed or weakened forms of certain pathogenic microorganisms, injected into the body. Thus, this is dependent on the principles of acquired immunity and memory cells, acting against the disease antigens, when they attack the body.
However, the vaccination of many diseases is not possible to be made because their weak or attenuated forms might be either detrimental for the human body to tolerate or the process, as a whole, is not facilitated. As argued by Takahashi et al. (2015), many times, the unavailability of vaccines can be majorly attributed to the socio-political context that support the formation of vaccines of certain diseases, while prohibiting that of the others such as that in case of Ebola.
