USAID’s main objective is lend out a hand of support to the developing and unde-developed countries to become self-reliant and capable of leading their own development journeys. It assures this by reducing conflict, preventing the spread of pandemic disease, and counteracting the drivers of violence, instability, transnational crime and other security threats. USAID promotes American prosperity through investments that expand markets for U.S. exports; create a level playing field for U.S. businesses; and support more stable, resilient, and democratic societies.
The proposal elaborates on the context of the Mission and the Vision of the USAID. This proposal claims to be the next mission of the USAID that would work as an alleviation of hunger from the heart of India. India is prospering every day but the hunger in the country is a major issue and food is a crisis despite that the Agricultural sector covers almost 70% of the country. India has over 1.3 billion population and is ranked at the second and has a density of 1,202 people per mi2. India has experienced has a tremendous growth in the past two decades. Gross Domestic Product has increased 4.5 times and per capita consumption has increased 3 times. Similarly, food grain production has increased almost 2 times. According to FAO estimates in ‘The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World, 2019' report, 194.4 million people are undernourished in India. By this measure 14.5% of the population is undernourished in India. Also, 51.4% of women in reproductive age between 15 to 49 years are anaemic.
