Conflict in Short Stories

For this assignment, you will be exploring conflict in one of the short stories we have been reading and discussing. You will examine the role of conflict in developing the plot of the story and discuss how conflict contributes to the central idea (theme) of the text. Your essay should have a clear thesis, and should support your analysis with multiple examples from the text. All of your quotations should be cited correctly in MLA format, using proper conventions.

As you develop the essay, be sure to reflect on the kind of conflict the main character is experiencing and determine how that conflict is resolved--if it is resolved. Your analysis should be 3 to 5 pages and have a works cited page.
