Introduction
Ethical parameters play a vital role in shaping the overall business and the business processes associated with a particular company. It is important for a company or an organisation to be ethical in their perspectives and operations. This provides the ability for the company to attract resources and at the same time gain popularity among the customer base.
The ethical compliance allows the company to maintain our strict standards of operations that benefit both the employees as well as the customers of the company. In this assignment, the different ethical commitments of Woolworth's have been analysed based on their nature, implications, communications and the gap that exists between commitment and reality.
Background of Woolworths in Australia
Woolworths is the largest grocery retail supermarket operational in Australia. It was established in 1924 and since then has been seen to continue to provide services that are superior in their standards when compared to the other brands that operate in the country. It operates as Woolworths group currently and the different parameters, based on which it operates include the supermarkets and their online stores. They also operate via their general merchandise store and the finance. Woolworths has been found to sell different products in the retail stores including groceries, liquors, fruits and vegetables, clothing and accessories.

Nature of the Commitment
This commitment of Woolworths has been aimed towards the provision of an environment within the workplace that is considered as being safe for their employees. Through this commitment, Woolworths m to develop risk mitigation strategies and analyse the workplace in order to highlight or identify the evident fire hazards, physical hazards, chemical hazards and other forms of hazards, which may hinder the overall successful operations of the employees within the workplace (Shaikh & Shaikh, 2021). It aims to minimise and neutralize these hazards of threats in order to provide a safe working environment for the employees so that employees can focus on innovation and commitment and not worry about their overall place and safety within the company.
Implications of the Commitment
Different implications may be evident for words while implementing the ethical parameters of implementing a safe workplace for their employees.
Firstly, as an outcome of this form of commitment by Woolworths, their aim is to protect and nourish their workplace so that they may offer a sustainable work environment for the employees. Consequently, the employees may be motivated in order to improve their performance and not worry about their safety and health. As an outcome of this form of motivation, the leadership strategies that are implemented by the company may be successful without any evidence of ambiguity or trust issues among the employees (Pulker et al., 2018).
Secondly, as an outcome of this form of commitment by Woolworths, their aim is to improve the overall employee retention strategies. As a common intellect, if the employees find their workplace free from any form of hazards, their overall intentions to be committed towards the company continues to increase. Therefore, the company may continue to have a significant employee retention percentage. As an outcome of high levels of employee retention, the skill pool of the employees at Woolworths continues to increase, which improves the overall sustainability of the organisation in the competitive market of Australia.
Thirdly, as an outcome of this form of commitment by Woolworths, they aim to implement diversity in the workplace. As an outcome of the implementation of workplace diversity, team working is highly favoured, which allows the team members to improve their role in collaboration with one another and thereby establish efficient communication strategies (Grimmer, 2018).
