This assessment aims to integrate many of the elements of the course and to test your
ability to build a plan which could be utilised in practise.
Community Hub Execution Plan
The module introduces many tools and techniques that are essential to successful project
planning and control. This assessment provides a practical opportunity to employ the
individual skills learned in their application using a single project. The project is to build a
community hub near to where you live. The vision for the community hub is to “provide a
focal point and facilities to foster greater local community activity and bring residents, the
local business community, and smaller organisations together to improve the quality of life
in their areas”. For the purpose of the assessment
the project aims for the development of the community hub include:
• Provision of space for community groups to use for activities which support specific
groups within the community (e.g. elderly, parent and children, young adults, youth
groups)
• To provide space and facilities for local government to provide advice and support
to the local community.
• To provide a focal space for the community to include a community café.
• To provide office space for staff (both from the co-ordinating charity and other
organisations) involved in the provision of services to the community.
• To be economically, socially and environmentally sustainable.
