This assessment addresses the following learning outcomes:a) Discuss the nature, causes, scope and impact of health and well-being on individuals, families, communities and societyb) Articulate what is meant by ‘good’ health and ‘well’ being and how these definitions are socially constructed by social, cultural, political and economic imperativesc) Explain the roles and responsibilities of Government and NGO agencies in relation to the provision of services and allocation of resources across the community services and health sectorsd) Analyse the influence of media on the health agenda, especially its impact on equity and access issuese) Examine health and well-being issues from service-users, workers, counsellors and consumer advocate perspectivesf) Identify professional practices and responses to the issues raised that are meaningful and relevant to the community services sector.
