There is some evidence to suggest that exposure to airborne fungal products may be associated with adverse health effects, for example, respiratory tract infections.41 A random sample of Canadian elementary schools was obtained and the following data was obtained for each: mesophilic fungi ( y, in cfu/m3 ), building age (x1, in years), air exchange rate (x2 , per hour), indoor CO2 (x3, ppm), outdoor temperature (x4, °C), and a dummy variable, signs of moisture in the room (x5, 0 for no signs, 1 for signs)
