Procedural justice covers the entire range of activities that define the delivery of justice to a suspect or criminal. Regardless of the nature of courts, including specialized courts, the significance of the justice process depends on the perception of the subjects, concerning the verdicts were given (Wolfe et al. 2016). For this reason, it is likely that the occurrence and intensity of recidivism will depend on the feelings triggered by the justice system. The article considers the factors that would create a positive influence, in terms of determining the reactions from the individuals going through the system (Kaiser & Holtfreter, 2016). Issues Related to the Problem The relationship between procedural justice and recidivism emanate from many aspects that involve the result from the criminal justice system. Reactions from the suspects or criminals from the major issue, which also determines the role of the procedures in the reformation of the criminal. Regardless of the crimes committed, the process of reforming the individual is important in eliminating the vices from an individual. Another issue, therefore, comes in the tendency of a criminal to get back into crime, to register dissatisfaction with the procedures in place. In this case, the reformation factors have little significance towards the tendency of the individual to return to the criminal activities (Wolfe et al. 2016). This also influences the reactions that come from undertaking revenge from the unfair practices that the subject may have identified in the system. 2 Specify Research Questions How does procedural justice influence recidivism? What is the significance of procedural justice factors in promoting recidivism? What are the motivators of recidivism, within the procedural justice system? Potential Sources of Data The potential sources of data for the project include the current literature in procedural justice and recidivism. This will provide the current information that revolves around the relationships between the two concepts, in addition to giving the datum for the analysis. In addition, the study considers the use of data collection methods such as questionnaires and surveys that target the first-hand information regarding the topic. For background information, a review of the available academic literature on the evolution of recidivism will be important, since it will give the chronological development of the topic over the years. Expected sources of Data Considering the aim of the project, conducting surveys on the project will be a reliable source of information. Other sources include case studies, current journals, and articles as well as analysis of the collected information. Expected Outcome of the Project The main expected outcome of the project is to determine the significance of procedural justice in recidivism. To achieve this, the project must have addressed the research questions indicated through analysis and making a conclusion from the research. Additionally, the project 3 should address the limitations as well as make recommendations based on the discovered research gaps.
