There are a number of measures in place to ensure that patients receive quality, safe evidencebased care as consumers of health services. Examples of these measures include the implementation of safety and quality frameworks such as the National Quality and Health Service Standards (NSQHS) developed by the Australian Commission on Quality and Safety in Healthcare in 2012. Other examples include clinical practice guidelines and clinical pathways. These guidelines and pathways are translated from findings derived from medical and health research and serve to provide quality evidence-based care to consumers. Clinical guidelines also function as education resources for clinicians and consumers by providing evidence for clinical decision-making and information about treatment options, services and standards of care (Chang & Daly, 2016). The thesis/project assessment task provides you with an opportunity to: • examine specific aspects of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards that guide the provision of patient care, and • develop a plan to disseminate your findings to implement translation of research to practice change. There are two parts (A and B) to this assessment task. Part A is worth 25% of the total subject marks, Part B is worth 25% of the total subject marks. Please note: assessment task 3, Project Part A will inform and guide the development of your assessment task 3, Project part
