It was Sunday morning. Just like every day, I woke up and switched on the news. I saw the most disturbing news I have come across ever. The news reporter was outside a grocery shopping mall and was telecasting that hundreds of people were queuing at the gates of all the grocery shops in the city. This was because, early morning, it was reported that with the spread of a plant fungal disease, most of the grains, vegetables and pulses were spoilt. The loss was said to be so vast that it would challenge be challenging for the government to provide food for millions of people in the country (Worstell).
I looked at the screen and did not know how to react. I changed the channel and the same news was everywhere, on every channel. Moreover, not just that the crisis was hitting almost every country globally. This shook me up from my reverie. It started sinking in me how grave is the situation. However, what should I do? What should I do first? Shall I call my parents and get help? Shall I check my social media and see what did my friends update on the situation?
