Social psychologists generally involve in the matter of dealing with the behavioral aspect
of people in the public. The psychological factors during World War II had reminded the
psychologists to engage and manage the feelings, beliefs and goals of people thereby enhancing
the interactions among people. World War II did demonstrate a significant role played by the
psychologists. While the psychologists during World War I involve in intelligence testing of the
military recruits, the World War II did characterize psychologists as the key behind the control of
actions by the soldiers. Every War is different in itself. There are different reasons for each war
and there are different implications. The involvement of psychologists may be positive or
negative, however many experts have believed that psychologists should always try to work for
the betterment of society as after effects of War could be dangerous.
The psychologists were actively involved in the optimization of the team performances
and enhancement of troop morale. They conducted several devised enemy propaganda programs
in order to manage the enmity and win over the case. The psychologists developed plans to
manage and perform operations against enemies with the presence of trained spies and
behavioral science did enable the psychologist to tackle the situation with better accuracy. The
characterization of psychologists’ involvement during World War II has shown a positive picture

of them. The psychologists also worked with doctors and medical hospitals. At the time of War
people suffer both physical and mental blows. Physical blows can be overcome in hospitals but it
is difficult to overcome mental challenges and psychologists help people in this aspect. Many a
times soldiers have low motivation when somebody from their troop or regiment get killed. The
psychologists helps soldiers to overcome this et back and move ahead in the life.
It was only due to psychologists that people were able to gain more efficiency. The
sociologists and psychologists collaborated during the war as well as post war periods. This
collaboration was especially to get a better idea on the perceptions of public. Social
psychologists did attempt to learn persuasion as well as propaganda exclusively for the US
military. Additionally, the social psychologists took the wide range of social issues into
consideration. This even helped them to manage the responses and behavior of public soon after
the War.

The involvement of psychologists in Vietnam War was comparatively lesser than that of
World War II. It had several psychological impacts on people belonging to United States.
