The text warns about the dangers in speaking of government as an “it” that can be manipulated, like a tool, to do whatever we want done. Isn’t it also misleading to use the word we the way it’s used in the preceding sentence? Who are the “we” who want government to do this or that? Everyone? The majority? All informed and public-spirited citizens? Those who share my interests and my understanding of the situation?
