Which are the Bus drivers and the people who operated the sea bus. The members of the union who represents the workers tallied up there votes and told that 99% of the people want a bus strike. They are planning to go on strike for 90 days. But they need to give a 72 hours. There negotiation was held on Thursday October 17, 2019 but the negotiation still going. There has been no sign of a strike. To include this the skytrain and west coast workers have not been affected by this and not take part in the strike. The bus drivers have been demanding for new bus drivers, more/longer breaks, better wages, and they are infuriated on how much all the time bus is crowded making them hard to focus. Yet they are demanding better wages. They get paid $21.74 per hour and the max of the wages is $31.06 per hour. There will be a massive outcome if they decided to go on strike , students who take the bus everyday can’t go to school or home, traffic everywhere and people who don't own a car will need to walk to work and back home. This exact same thing happen in April 2001 where the bus drivers went on strike for 120 days. The president Jerry Dias stated to strike saying, "Our members take the responsibility of providing safe, dependable public transportation seriously and they're asking Coast Mountain to properly recognize the dedication and effort that the workers put in day in and day out to properly deliver it." So right now to this day they are still negotiation for the bus drivers not to go on strike, but to improve some the things they demanded.
