The slate in a pool table may be one piece, but because it is prone to fracturing during transporting, it is often split into three slabs. Slate slabs from three pool-table manufacturers were randomly selected. The weight of each slab (in kg) was recorded, and the summary statistics are given in the following table.
Many steam cleaners advertise a very high internal boiler temperature that produces a dry steam vapor and a chemical-free cleaning system. Four types of home floor steam cleaners were identified, and a random sample of each type was obtained. The temperature of the steam (in °F) was measured at the nozzle for each device. Is there any evidence to suggest that at least two of the steam cleaner nozzle temperature population distributions are different? Assume that the underlying populations are continuous, and use the Kruskal-Wallis test with a = 0.01.
