The researchers would like to enhance the skills of 21st century learners through a
strategy that uses software application which fits their learning style. Two classes with the
same capacity to learn were used as the respondents of their study. The first class was
taught using the GeoGebra app while the other class was taught using the traditional
method. The researchers gave a 30- item achievement test after exposing the two classes
with different methods.
Hypotheses of the study are presented below while the achievement scores of the
students and the result of t-test using Microsoft Excel are found on the next page.
Null Hypothesis: There is no significant difference between the achievement of the
students who used the GeoGebra app and traditional method.
Alternative Hypothesis: There is a significant difference between the achievement
of the students who used the GeoGebra app and the traditional method.
1. The p-value from the t-test table is 0.04 while the significance level for social
sciences study is 0.05. The decision rule is to reject Ho if the p-value is ≤ α.
Substitute the value.
