The report should be on a health and wellbeing issue affecting Aboriginal people and written as if: 1. You are employee of an organisation. This needs to be an organisation that does exist and you need to provide a website address for verification. Get general information about the organisation from their website or via phone calls. But please do not interview staff at the organisation as you will require University ethics clearance to do so and this course is not designed around that level of research. 2. You have been asked to provide information on a health and wellbeing issue that is affected by a number of social determinants. Write your report as if the organisation you have chosen will use this report to consider the issue or to take further action. 3. This is not a report on a biomedical condition but rather a report of the complex socially determined factors that may affect a health and wellbeing issue for Aboriginal people. For example: You are an employee of the Elizabeth City Council and asked to provide an update on drug and alcohol usage patterns and service use by Aboriginal youth in that council area. You are an employee of Central Australia Aboriginal Congress and are asked to provide a report on dialysis services in Central Australia as a basis for future planning When you have decided on a topic, email this to the course coordinator as well as any questions that may have arisen. You may ring organisations for general sources of information but please do not interview. Do a search of primary sources such as the media as well as journals for up-to-date material.
