The purpose of this folio assessment is to produce a collection of information, resources and reflections based on the content and activities from weeks 7- 11. This collection will help you develop your skills in teaching early mathematics and numeracy.Assessment detailsBy gathering information into a folio, you are demonstrating an ability to identify, evaluate and transmit ideas about effective principles, policies and practices for developing early mathematics and numeracy within an early childhood and lower primary setting.This assessment allows you to add a reflective dialogue and to track your reasons for including specific evidence. Your folio should not just be a collection of resources; if academic underpinning is not evident, then you will not pass this assessment. Utilise the expertise of your eLA to question whether the evidence you have chosen to include meets the assessment criteria.Your folio will contain ten pieces of evidence as detailed below:Theme ItemDeveloping written maths 1. Two examples of how assessing early maths behaviour can extend children's learning and engagement with mathsFor each resource, include:•a completed Folio Resource Template (template at the end of this assessment)•the name and description of each folio resource•evidence of the resource such as a URL/screenshot/photo•a brief description of how that resource would be deployed in an early childhood or primary setting•your opinion of the resource
