The PSS-Fa, the CBS, and the PC-ACQ decrease when the intervention designed to enhance family social support is implemented (i.e., phase B), but the decrease in PSS-Fa and CBS scores is larger than the decrease in PC-ACQ scores. When the intervention designed to reduce the amount of change in the adolescent perceived as necessary by the mother is implemented (i.e., phase C), there’s a further decrease in the PSS-Fa and the CBS, but the largest decrease occurs for the PC-ACQ scores. This pattern of change between phases suggests that the PSS-Fa, the CBS, and the PC-ACQ change in a theoretically predicted manner in response to intervention, which in turn suggests that they’re sensitive to “real” change in the problems they attempt to measure.
